I have two words for those of you planning on flying Southwest Airlines in the future:
Plan.
Ahead.
We did not know the "check in online 24 hours in advance" rule and as SWA has no assigned seating, you can imagine what happened.
Two of the three legs of the flight to FL we all had to sit apart, most of us in the dread middle seat. The second part of the flight a deadheading pilot had to give up his seat for a slightly weepy, completely panicked at the ohmygoodnessisthisplanefull, me.
I was thankful and praising God for the headcold that took my sense of smell when the lady behind me started to puke. Oh, had I not had the cold, I would have been joining her, believe it.
A learning experience to be sure. I don't mind flying SWA, the tickets are inexpensive, and the people are really friendly, but planning ahead is a MUST when flying that airline. A mistake I will not make in the future.

Dr. Kandi will prescribe Valium M&Ms to you in the future. Nighty-night.
I don't like flying much and this is just one reason why.
I'm sorry they couldn't seat you together and that you had to deal with a puking lady behind you. Ugh!
When I booked airline tickets online with Delta, I could actually choose the seats for Mike, Daniel and my Mom. That was nice.
I hope you love the rest of your FL getaway. Have a great time!
Oof. My BP just went up. Truly. Traveling is SO stressful. At least you didn't have anyone attached to a leash... :)
I made this mistake when flying with our two young sons and without my husband. However, understanding the dilemma of putting a mother and her 18 month old son in two middle seats across the aisle from one another, the ticket agent was happy to change our seating arrangements. And the gentleman sitting next to me was equally happy to move.
But could you imagine what a nightmare that could have become?!?
R U HOME YET?
There it is almost like a text message. Cause I am so good at texting dontcha know.
