Long day yesterday to say the least! Hit the road at 8:00 to have breakfast with the friends we stayed with, and just as we were getting ready to leave, one of the restaurant patrons fainted. After helping her to the floor, waiting for the ambulance and leaving her in the capable hands of the EMTs we hugged and said our byebyes.
Drove from Sarasota to Orlando, did a bit of shopping (realizing we are "flea market" people, not "premium outlet" people).
Got a bit off track going back to the airport and got there a little late to see a line of about 60 people. Oof. So we waited.
Got our bags checked and went to the security line (and I mean LINE) of about 150 non-moving people. I texted some people to pray that we didn't miss our flight as time was getting very short. Just as I sent the text and got a few replies back a space opened in the family line, so we shot under the strap barricade to freedom. A gift from God!
Got to the gate and boarded 5 min later.
Was gifted with a great seat by a 4-year-old who slept on my arm most of the way, and the flight was uneventful. Landed in Chicago with a 2-hour layover. Now most people would not think that was a gift, but after running-and yes I did-through airports for most of the trip, it was welcome. We sat in the Pub and had supper and waited for our boarding to be called. We were in the first section of boarders, so we all got to sit together.
Paul & Brandy picked us up and we headed home. I walked into our house to find it had been cleaned by my good friends Karen and Mary (ths was a HUGE part of the "angel" thing). What an awesome gift that was, let me tell you.
All in all an awesome trip, a really fun time. I am really looking forward to my 50th birthday, cuz I just might do it again!

What a blessing! You are so loved, Mama.
I'm right there with you on the layover times. I far prefer to be stuck in an airport for over an hour as opposed to running from one gate to the next hoping and praying to make it there in time!
