Liquor

Drew you right in with that title, huh? Actually I'm not blogging about liquor, but a little Hannah story.
Hannah was an early talker, she had probably 20 words by 12 months, and was speaking clearly and in sentences by 18 months. Therefore she noticed all kinds of words when she was three.
We were sitting in the car at County Market one day, waiting for John to run in and get something. She said, "Mom, what is that word?" She was looking at the Chiccone's Liquor sign on the store next door.
"What are the letters? I asked.
"L-I-Q-U-O-R."
"Liquor," I said, "it's a store." Having never been in a liquor store at the tender age of three, she had no idea what that was. I really had to hold in my laughter, however, when she nodded in an all-knowing way and said, "Ah, licks."

Funny. I hear ya Carla. Libs says about 10 words where Jace knew most of the dictionary by this age.
