The Ides

Taylor and I discussing something in March:
K: On the 15th? No way, that's the Ides.
T: The what?
K: The Ides of March, when Caesar was killed.
T: Who? The salad guy?

Nice. I probably wouldn't have a clue what the Ides of March are except that my brother's birthday is that day and people would always mention it.

As the mother of Joey's brother, I learned about the ides the same way he did. What I also learned is that the 15th of any month is an ides. But, because a "salad guy" wasn't done in on my birthday it has not universally become known as the Ides of July. Now I'm wanting to do a word study on "ides" because it's a rather weird sounding word...

Keithslady, perhaps there's a whole other flavor just waiting for you...

Oh, and I'm pretty sure we covered that at some point...somewhere...pretty sure. Can't understand why he wouldn't remember that. Huh.
