Shopping Glee

Ok, that was sarcastic. Whatever.

Wal Mart was a shopper's challenge yesterday (why oh, why do I leave my shopping until the last week?) The parking lot was jammed--oh wait I meant JAMMED--and the store was ...well you get it, right?
I was in the toy aisle and I watched a guy put something in the cart. His wife looked at it and said, "TWENTY DOLLARS? I am NOT spending twenty dollars on HIM." I looked at her and smiled. She was embarassed.

When I got to the checkout, I asked for some stamps. Did you know you can buy stamps at Wallymart? You can. But I digress.
"Would you like "Forever" stamps or holiday ones?"
"Forever ones are ok," I said.
She opened the drawer and all she had were holiday stamps. I said those were fine, she ignored me and asked her supervisor if it was ok if she gave me the holiday ones, since they were the same price.
Really? Whatever.

Every year I promise myself I will get my Christmas shopping done in October. Every year I finish a few days before Christmas. Every year. Whatever--next year will be different. I promise.

I think she did that because of inventory, when she enters the UPC of the "Forever" stamps it will show one of them to be sold. When she went in the drawer to take one and saw they were gone, she knew if she gave you a book of Holiday stamps that it would show up at closing as having one holiday stamp book missing without being paid for, cause there would be no UPC code for it in the sales. Just an idea~
