Say What?

Because of many, many years of loud factory work sans earplugs, years of chainsaw work sans earplugs, and early years of loud music, my husband is losing his hearing.
But won't admit it.
Yesterday in the car he asked me, "Am I going deaf or do you just mumble?"
Hmmm.
Now, anyone who knows me knows I am no mumbler. "Speak softly" are words that have never gone together in my world.
But whaddya say?
I just looked at him and smiled.

Hear ye, hear ye. Anyone thinking they can give me some advice on how to get him to go to an ear doctor can save their keystrokes. Believe me, I have tried it.

I went through the same thing--but it was ME that was always complaining about the mumblers. (And The Husband DOES mumble--he just won't admit it.) Finally, to 'prove' to everyone that THEY mumble, I went to the dr and had a hearing test. Turns out, I have a congenital hearing loss (mild) and I REALLY couldn't/can't hear. I still won't admit that it's ME and not THEM when I can't hear something. ;)

How about those ear candle wax thingies, and present it to him to see if this will help. And when it doesn't.....I'm just trying to think outside the box.
