Bad That's Good

I have a friend. This friend fell, which is bad, but at the hospital when doing the CAT scan, they found a kidney stone, which is bad, but if they wouldn't have found the stone the Dr. said he would have lost his kidney. So that's good. When they were doing the surgery for the stone, they found bladder cancer, that's bad, but they never would have known it was there had he not fallen, which turns out good, right?
