Of Baby Clothes And Men

Erin's blogppost today reminded me...
When Eli and Hannah were at the baby and toddler age, if we wanted to go somewhere where they actually HAD to be DRESSED, I did it. No offense to Poppers' parenting skills, but he just didn't care about baby clothes. "What stain?" "They're supposed to wear socks?" You get the idea.
One Sunday I was to sing in choir at church and I left John to get Hannah and Eli to church by himself. Hannah by then was dressing herself, but I worried. Yeah I worried. When John brought the cherubs into the auditorium, fully dressed, I was so proud of him. I only had to chuckle at the fact that he had put Eli's socks on heel-side-up.
Speaking of socks, John, Hannah and Eli took a trip to Ohio one summer I think Hannah was 8 and Eli was 2. I was staying at home because I was on call for a delivery--I was to be the doula for one of our friends.
When they came back home, I took Eli's shoes off to find that he had worn the same socks for the whole week.

Hahaha!
As Lauren and I folded clothes last night, we laughed because there is NO WAY Rich will be able to figure out some of these clothes.

What is it with Men and socks? Last summer Jerry did the same thing! He took Mik, Dak, and Dill camping for a week- When they got home Mikayla had the same socks on as when they left! She said she had never taken them off! Even in the lake with her water shoes on! So there we are sittin on the couch when she pulls them off and plop! Her wart falls off on the floor! Easy toe wart removal at it's best! (sorry if i grossed you out)

Just like camp. I learned my lesson the first year. Pack 1/3 of what you think they'll wear and most of that will come back clean.

And I'm not just talking about Taylor and Collin, either, Mister-I'm-Only Going-For-The-Weekend,-What's-With All-The-Underwear.

I know how the guy feels. I'v had some socks that could clear out a shopping mall. I'v had socks smell so bad it could end a marriage. I'v had socks that had to be exorcised.

Erin, Sorry I made you gag :(

Charlie! GO to my site and under my Labels click on the heading- Household hints and tips- In that section there is a tidbit about Seriously Stinky Socks! I believe the winner for removing smell was to soak them in a bowl of warm water with Baking Soda- According to KNafe~ it worked great!

Some things changed when I clarified for the girls that they didn't just need clean panties on; (What's one or two poop stains, they thought) they needed FRESH panties on each day. OHHHH, the light bulb went on finally.

Keithslady--Ellen Elise is a pretty name.
