Workin' For The Man

Hannah's band director called just now and asked me since Hannah skipped out of his class last Friday, if it would be ok to put her to work cleaning. I said yes. Should be an interesting afternoon.

Dear Mr. Hilden and Mr. McCarthy,
Thank you for being such great musicians and instructors. You made Hannah's four years in band sail. You are both the epitome of what high school band directors should be. The musical pieces you chose for the concerts was spot-on, and a lot of the time caused tears, as I recognized a hymn, or familiar piece of music. I am going to miss you for a few years, but look forward to the time when Eli gets the honor of being led by you both.

Let me know what she had to do. What if she is given the order to clean out all the old spit from the tuba?

Hannah came in from school today (after skipping out of her last-hour study hall....) and said she was glad Mr. H. put her to work filing the music. "At least I didn't have to play 'Pomp And Circumstance' fifty times."

Wouldn't it be cool if Mr. H. and Mr. M. showed up at the pig roast with their instruments? Hmmmm.

No spit involved. I wasn't feeling that mean;)

Your daughter is a tribute to your fine parenting and it's been Mr. M's and my privilege to have worked with Hannah.

Thanks for your kind words! When you have students like Hannah, the job is easy.

I just wanna say bravo for writing a kind blog to banana's teachers. I bet all school teachers get a lot less postive feedback than negative.
