Famous

I was reading a blog today and on there the lady had listed 13 famous people she had met. I don't think I can come up with that many, but here you go:
1. A guy who looks so much like Alan Jackson people ask him for autographs--not famous, I know but I'm a slow starter.
2. Chris Rice
3. Al Weiss--the Big Dog (CEO?) at Disney
4. I did salute the lead singer of Steppenwolf and he saluted back--ok, half a point.

Ok, not too many, but I don't get out much.
What famous peeps have you met?

Hmm..not too many.
1. Garrison Keillor (author)
2. Sonny Bono
3. Marlo Thomas
4. Elizabeth Berg (author)
5. Bill Clinton (shook hand when he was running for president)
6. Hilary Clinton (shook hand when said husband was running for president...I had noticed that her foot was so swollen that it was swelling out of her shoe and thought to comment on it, but didn't want to look gossipy!)
7. Orlando Bloom (saw him at an airport and waved as his team hustled him past me...he waved back and smiled so gorgeously that I nearly fainted)

So...not too shabby. Although, I use the word "met" loosely. It was a very fan based kind of meeting, not dinner and a movie.

Met comedian Dennis Swanberg.
At a Rick Springfield concert I threw a rose on stage and his lead guitarist stuck it in his guitar.
Saw President George Bush in person.
Bono of U2 smiled and waved to me backstage at Saturday Night Live.
Met John Ratzenberger's niece.

1. I met Dan Quayle in Norman, OK when I was in 4th grade.
2. Lauren and I saw Hulk Hogan at the Memphis Airport.
3. Arnold Schwarzenegger (sp?) at the Mall of America (with Lauren again).
4. Joe Mauer threw me* a practice ball at a Brewers/Twins game, which obviously means we are going steady. I think it's getting serious.
*I use the word "me" lightly because it might have actually been Rich who caught the ball, but the jury is still out.
5. Al Oliva at a Twins game.
6. My mom rode in an elevator with Ozzy Osbourne once--does that count for anything?
7? Lauren and I have also hung out with several bands, but I doubt they count.

Here's what I have:
1. Garrison Keillor picked my suitcase up off of the carousel at the MPLS airport. I thanked him, and he said, "You're welcome."
2. I shook Billy Joel's hand at a concert.
3. I shook ventriloquist Jeff Dunham's hand after a performance at TLC.
4. I saw Sherman Hemsley (aka George Jefferson) at Universal Studios in CA...from a distance. He waved at us.
That's about it, I think. I need to get out more.

Erin, it doesn't count if you get their name wrong. You met and shared your popcorn with TONY Oliva.

Ok, I have another, Erin Reminded me of it. I saw Hulk Hogan at the same bar--the same night that Steppenwolf was playing.
And I saw George W at the same place that Carla saw him--and lost a job because of it. I had training that day and they fired me because I called in to tell them I was going to see GW. I wonder if it had been Al Gore what they would have done....

I used to do entertainment writing, so I met people that way. But if I don't count that, I went to Gregory Peck's funeral in L.A. a few years ago and SAW a gazillion stars!

Was it at night?
Sorry, I couldn't resist.

1. Mr. Wall--owner of Wall Drug in SD. I was 8 years old on a family trip and he offered me a job when I grew up.
2. Saw Mark Rosen (ch. 4 sports guy) at the hospital the day my brother was born. He had just had a baby as well and was exclaiming "his hands are so big!" to a friend.
3. Dave Moore. I interviewed him for a school project in 8th grade and got to watch him do the evening news.
4. I saw Gorbachev from a skyway in Vancouver while on a college band trip.
5. Both Loni Anderson and Richard Dean Anderson graduated from my high school. Does that count?
6. Oprah Winfrey.

Just kiddin about Oprah.
