Remember the Oil for Food scandal? We at the Noser house have a new program. Gas for Grades. Yes, we have entered into the bribery realm. Well, I guess not bribery exactly, more of an equal exchange.
It is a known fact that Eli has a hard time with homework. It is a known fact that teenagers need gas for their car. It is a maybe lesser-known fact that Hannah is an excellent teacher; patient yet firm. Are you getting the picture?
Here's the deal: Hannah helps Eli with his homework--he gets done in about 2/3 of the time--and we fill her tank once a week or thereabouts. Pretty good deal all around. Eli doesn't waste his entire night sitting at the kitchen table, and Hannah saves lots of money.
Now I know some of you out there may think that I should be being the parent and taking care of the homework thing, but Hannah is a good tutor, and Eli needs one--why not let her be the tutor? Right?
Good, I'm glad you all agree. For those of you who don't, please leave a comment in this space. c Please write legibly.

pretty much a sweet deal... if i do say so myself...
Awesome idea, Kristi! If the sparks fly when it is you and Eli, then fill that girl's tank!
I am a fan of this system. Hannah gets to sharpen her teaching skills, and Eli gets to learn. Sounds like Hannah already has the life of a grad student - oh, wait, she gets paid something, anything, it's waaay better.
I think it sounds like a great deal! Good thinking, Kristi!
I think that is wonderful! If I lived closer I might see what deal I could work out with Hannah.
I'm with you, too. I pay my 16 year old daughter to work on piano lessons with the 7 and 9 year old. Could I do it? Yes. Do I want to? NO!
