Worshipin'

Listened to a rockin' sermon today--thanks Steve--and we stood to sing the closing worship songs. We were singing away and what do my wondering ears hear? My sonny son son singing away. Woot!
Eli has adamantly refused to sing in church since he was old enough to read the lyrics on the screen--wait, even before that. He just wouldn't do it. "That's ok", I told him, "but you do have to be engaged, you have to read the lyrics while everyone else sings." I have over the years spent much time looking at him, and telling him with my eyes to watch the screens. Usually what I got was a look of crankiness at the gall of me actually telling him what to do.
Not today.
Pretty proud of that boy.
Sometimes it's a surprise that your children are growing up, sometimes you have to pull them along, and then sometimes they jump ahead all by themselves. Sweet.

Coolishness! Way to go, Eli!

I am still working on getting Travis to stand while the music is playing...sigh...
