Don't Miss Me

What in the heck is with all the Missin'? I work at church and children come in and call me "Miss Kristi". WHAT? First of all, I think this is something people are teaching their children that is bordering on rude behavior. Second, I have earned the right to be called Mrs. --trust me on this one, I have the paperwork to prove it.
Please parents, don't teach your children that calling any adult by their first name is acceptable behavior, unless they have been asked to do so. I understand that some people don't think being called Mr. or Mrs. is a good thing, maybe it makes them feel old, or whatever. Granted, they have the right to do as they please, but don't assume that everyone likes to be called Miss_____, because frankly, I can't stand it.
I don't know who started this practice, or why so many people think it's ok. I may be old fashioned on this one, but I'm standing firm.

Kristi Rule #17
Don't call me Miss Kristi.
Mrs. Noser will be fine, thank you.

And snaps to the Porters, their boys always call me Mrs. Noser--I LOVE IT!

I think they pick it up in Cubbies...you know...Miss Mary, Miss Caroline etc. That's my 4 cents.

I could never understand that either. What's wrong with "Schettle" and "Jewell"? Are they difficult names to pronounce? I mean, my kindergarten teacher's name was Miss McGalwayne. I was able to wrap my 5-year-old head around that one (still remember it some thirty-odd years later, too). I think kids (children, sorry) will do what they're expected to do, call people what they're permitted to call them. The whole Mr. and Mrs. thing what pounded into our heads when we were young, so maybe we just haven't morphed into the new culture...I'll stick with respect if you don't mind.

Mrs. Noser,
Thanks for the kind remark. We reserve 'Miss' for the teenage, female sitters who watch our boys. Though you have the humor of a teenage girl, you deserve to be called Mrs.

Girl, You belong down here in the South. NO adult is ever called by their first name. All children no matter what age at our school address adults as Mr. or Mrs. and also "Yes, sir or Yes, mam" or "No, sir or No, mam" I tried to get Leah's friends to call me Heidi and they about passed out. I guess I failed...my my KIDS called you Kristi. (Kids!!!!!!!!!!!) Just thought I would get your goat! HAHAHA!
Heidi Heinsch down here in smelly Florida (as you call it!)
