Daylight Crabby Time

I don't know how many of you out there feel as I do on this subject, but I detest Daylight Savings Time. I feel like a wreck for almost two weeks after the "spring ahead" thing. Who thought this up anyway? I looked on the web, but there are differing stories. Ben Franklin was supposed to have written a letter suggesting something like it, but from accounts I read, it was a tongue-in-cheek type of thing that shouldn't have been taken seriously. Other sources say that it was for the benefit of the farmers, so they could have more time to work in the light. I figure if the farmers want to work in the light, they should get up earlier. Oh, wait, they do.
It's almost too tempting to want to move to Indiana or Arizona where they ignore the rule and leave the clocks as they should be. Then that opens up an entire new can of worms does it not? Imagine living in an area that does not observe DST and working in a town that does. Bleecchh. So, I guess it could be worse, and there is really nothing I can do about it, barring vocal protests at the State Capitol, so I should just stop the crankin' and get some sleep while it is light outside.

I hear ya!! I can't put the kids to bed at 5:30pm anymore when it used to be dark!! They are onto me.

I'm all for leaving it where it's at now, that way it would stay light past 3:30 during the winter!

But then, parents with kids waiting at dark school bus stops at 7:00 AM would be upset. I don't think anyone will ever be happy, and we're all just going to have to suffer with this plague for the rest of our lives.

I'm sure if they don't have a pill for this, they will soon!!

We have the energy shortage of the late 1970's to thank for this. By the way next year it will be three weeks earlier.

Thanks for the heads up Bill.

Kelli, if they have a pill, I will have to re-think my as-little-medicine-as-possible rule and take a double dose!
