Road Trip
Tomorrow we are embarking (literally--we're taking the dog) on an adventure that until this time in my life I have not had the opportunity to do. The children and I and the dog (have I mentioned we're taking the DOG?) are driving out to see Alex & Kaui in Philadelphia. Our family drives everywhere--well, we didn't to Hawaii--and straight through as well. But I have never had a long trip like this with just me and the chillins. Poppers is always there to fix flat tires, dead batteries and the like. Not that Hannah and I don't know how to change a tire--get real, we learned in grade school. And I am not afraid of the condition of our car. Believe me, we have traveled in much, much worse. A few of the cars we have driven for a thousand miles, normal people wouldn't take to the grocery store. I make sure I have plotted out the shortest route on main interstate-type roads. Now Alex is one person you want on the other end of the line. When we went to see them in Nov of 2004, he called me when we were getting near Chicago and said that the traffic was so bad that I should go around the city, not through as I have always done. Did I listen? No. Three hours to get through that stinkin place. Needless to say I will be heeding his every command this time. So pray for us, dear friends, I will try to keep you updated.
