Clean As A Whistle

Last week I baked something in my favorite pan. The stuff I baked stuck on the sides of the pan like no other. For DAYS I soaked it and scrubbed it and soaked it and scrubbed...well you get the idea. I was contemplating throwing the thing away, and told Pops so.
"Nah, let me give it a try, don't throw it away yet." he said
Later that day he showed me the pan, all shiny and clean.
"Oh, nice job," I told him, "how did you get it so clean?"
"Sandblasted it."
And there you go.

Forget the dishwasher - have John build you an under-the-counter sandblaster. Just think how much you'll save on dishwasher detergent!

Yeah, but soon I won't have any dishes left!

Well, there is that...you'll have to go back to MELMAC.

Thanks for the visual that story conjured up, kept Keith and me chuckling for awhile!

There was a series of books, 'Foxfire' which told of the common, woodsy sense of the hill-folk. Forget Foxfire, let's write Papafire. We can share John's fixes with the crazy world beyond Hudson.

Let's call it Noserfire, then we can have all kinds of stories. I can put in the one where I fixed the washing machine with bottle caps.
Yep, the older we get, the more like each other we are.
