Time For A New Chore

Much to my chagrin, Eli is a dawdler in the morning. A time waster if you will. Today was no exception. The time was nearing when the bus would be here and I told him he'd better hurry up.
Now allow me to preface this story by telling you that this boychick has to practically be FORCED to take his laundry downstairs. I am happy to wash it, but it has to be by the washer.

So, back to this morning. He walked into his room in a towel, I told him to hurry up, and he said, "Well, I could use some clean clothes you know."
Guess what he will be learning this afternoon?

Our eighth child was born when Joey was 12. Out of necessity I taught him (Joey) to do the laundry. To my surprise, he was good at it! I thought it would be expensive, making up for all of his mistakes, but only one item was ruined. I made a chart of the types of loads and how they're washed/dried and that was it. The secret was out, doing laundry is not the refinded skill I wanted them to think it was.

Poor Eli. If only one really could eat one's words before they escape your mouth! He will probably rue the day he uttered them...
