I thought of that antique joke when I woke up this morning, because I laughed so much my cheeks are sore.
Yesterday I worked at the benefit golf tournament our church held, and I worked with the one-and-only Heidi Heinsch. Oh, let me tell you we two can get some serious laughing accomplished in a surprisingly short amount of time. You can imagine how much fun we had, as we spent most of the day together. I think I will consider it an ab workout. Some sort of muscle toning had to come out of that much belly-laughing.
Heidi has been a friendforever (yes I meant that as one word) and will be until the end, no matter how far apart we live from each other. Thanks, Heiner for a great day.
I also got to ride around in a golf cart (and DRIVE!-my first ever experience) with Erin, another foreverfriend. She taught me a few things about the game, and we had a bunch of fun.
All-in-all an exciting, fun-filled day.
And now for the bestest end to a bestest day...
There was a silent auction for the benefit, and one of the items was a one-week rental of a cabin in Spooner, WI. I was bidding against another gentleman, and when the bid got to $200 I knew I had reached my financial limit, and stopped bidding. He won the cabin for $205 and when he came to the table to pay his ticket, I mentioned that he won the cabin I was bidding on. I believe the words "my cabin" actually left my mouth (yikes). "Really?" he said. "Well I'll tell you what, I just wanted to make a donation, and I really don't want to go to the cabin, so I will pay for it and you take the week."
Bahwha?
He wouldn't change his mind no matter how hard I tried to convince him.
So how about that? Pretty cool.
