We're Off To Clean The Fridger

I just can't seem to get off that song...

Friday I came home after three days of interacting with our staff and I was wiped. Not that I don't love the people I work with, or love interacting with people in general, but I was all in.
I came into the kitchen and opened the fridge and was almost knocked on my rumper. OMS whatta stench. Before we all left the house it seems that someone spilled the garlic sauce all over the bottom of the fridger and neglected to clean it up. The garlic monster had invaded.
No matter how tired I was I was not going to let that sit! I hyper-cleaned the fridger, inside and out--even vacuumed the bottom coily-thingies.
This morning I opened it to get some eggs and WHAM! A little difference, but not much.

Any help from those of you who are in the know on this one will be appreciated.

Jeffrey says that's a tragic waste of good sauce.

Baking Soda? Lemon Juice? Tomatoes? Sol-U-Smell? Air purifier in the fridger?

Vinegar?

I read this online about removal from your hands.....Can you scrub the area with tinfoil?

The odor of garlic comes from sulfur-based chemicals. Sulfur binds easily with many metals, so rubbing something metallic will usually remove the smell of garlic. Try using a piece of aluminum foil, something made from stainless steel like a spoon, or even a handful of pennies. Rub the metal in your hands, holding them under warm running water, then wash with soap and rinse.

Or we could all come over and bring you a jar of pennies...that might be enough to cover the bottom of your fridge:)

Could you put some charcoal in the fridge? It is supposed to absorb odors.

If garlic binds with heavy metals that doesn't sound good. Because even though a lot of the interior of the fridge is plastic these days... I guess I would try sprinkling soda on the shelf where it spilled and down the cracks on the sides and let it sit a couple days and vacuum it out. Good luck.

On your rumper--you and your phrases!

Baking soda is my suggestion, too. Good luck. Garlic yucko. Not fun.

Yeah, I was going to suggest baking soda...a big ol' box!

Sol-u-mel was my suggestion.

Lemons and baking soda....rub the soda into the fridge w/ half a lemon.

And the winner is...
Charcoal!
