Slip Slidin'

Billiam, I get to post the "Butthead Truck Driver Award" today.

Tonight we were driving back from Bloomington on the freeway. Sleet was coming down in sheets and the headwind was so strong it threatened to take me out once or twice. I was in the left lane, it seemed like the least slippery to me, and keeping a reasonable clip and here comes Mr. BTD. Right on my kiester flashing his lights at me. As the traffic in the middle lane was going slower and the globs of ice between the lanes made for tricky lane changing, I stayed where I was. He passed me at his earliest convenience, pulled right back in front of me and took off.
A little further up the freeway traffic slowed way down and I detected a waft of diesel fuel. Uh oh. Sure enough he'd pasted someone. In his hurry to get where he was going he disregarded the weather and the safety of others on the road. I wonder if the time he saved going too fast was worth the time he lost sitting waiting for the police...

And I wonder what he'll say to the 70-year-old man in critical condition that he hit head on. Not that it could've been completely avoided, but I'm guessing his speed did NOT help the situation any.

File this under "Lessons Learned the Hard Way".

I could think of a few more names besides "Butthead" but I shall refrain. I'm glad you were okay.

Doubtful (about the time saved).
