A Fingernail First

I broke a nail last week.
Yeah I know.
I've never done that before.

As a lifelong nail-ripper-biter-picker, I have never had nails long enough to break. My nails were always the sad recipient of my anxiety, so therefore the week was measured by how many "bloods" I had--bloods being spots that were torn to the quick. Believe me, some days there weren't enough fingers.
I now am the proud owner of nine fingers with fingernails long enough to see the white part.
Soon to be ten.
Autographs will be given between the hours of three and five M-W-F.

WOW!! Good work! My cuticles are the recipient of my anxiety. I bite, chew, gnaw, rip and pick at them. Makes Lauren absolutely bonkers. I don't even realize I'm doing it. Why is it so unbelievably satisfying? I don't get it.

yeah for you! I can't think of anythign more annoying than fingernails into the quick. I had a friend growing up who'd chew hers to a nub. She had puffy fingertips and didn't seem to have much of a nail or any quick. Not me boy, huh uh.
I caught Bubby sitting on the ball chewing his off on the floor

Good for you, Kristi! I'm a fellow nail-ripper-biter-picker... I find my habit is cyclical with the longest segment of the cycle tending toward defeat. (3 weeks grown out, 2 years bitten to a pulp, 2 weeks long, 3 years bitten to a pulp). They're actually nice when I let them grow - did it for my wedding and forgot to take a picture... Hmmm.... Good luck!

Kristi, I abruptly realized, yesterday, when I left that comment, that I was about to be late for Gidget's vet appt so I hit publish before I finished my thoughts or even added a period! Come over to the Maple and get yet scavenger hunt on for a pair of beady flip flops! Contest ends Friday *s*
