Our neighbor Brian (remember Brian?) stopped over last night and he and his wife took me to their house to look at a roll of carpet he had gotten for us to see if it is something I would like.
On the way over I found that he just had oral surgery that day and was in considerable pain, but he was so excited to show me the carpet they just had to stop by. This is one quality young couple.
It is beautiful--I looked up the name of the carpet and here's what found:
Frieze
Frieze is a highly twisted cut pile carpet suited for high traffic, informal areas. It has short fibers that tend to curl in different directions at the surface to hide footprints and vacuum marks.
"High traffic" and "informal" suits our house to a "t". I think I may be painting this weekend....
just in case any of you wants to come over for a short--and by "short" I mean long, work-filled-- visit.

Come to think of it, "highly twisted" suits our house pretty well too.
I'm so going to grab some of those shoe-covering-bootie thingies for ya, too.
Carpet that hides stuff. Love that.
I totally owe you painting time, but I think I'm going to have to pass this time.
Have fun!
Would we get to decorate?
i'll help. but i don't want to hear any wise cracks about my short cut mesh t-shirt and cut-off blue jean shorts.
Charlie, get your cut-offs up here!
Sorry Laura, homie don't do decorating.
I left a comment yesterday but it didn't show up for some reason.
Kristi, the carpet sounds great, and it sounds like you have a great neightbor, too!
Hey, where does your neighbor get his carpet? We're shopping for our basement...seriously.
That is what he does for a living--installs carpet.
OH, I love new carpet..we have that...just picked too light of a color on our steps. Otherwise, it's good. Oh, and don't spill toilet bowl cleaner on it, it tends to leave a crumpled hole. Go figure.
I say we all gather up all of our left-over paint and come on over...kinda like the Partridge Family bus.
Whaddya think?
I have some leftovers...
Sage Green,
Bright Orange,
and Sunny Yellow....
We could paint an outdoor mural!?
