Eli was fussing at me tonight, after I repeated the rules he was supposed to follow. "Why can't I do whatever I want to do?" he whined. I countered, "Why can't you get a job and live on your own?" "I'm too young." "There you go, bud."
While discussing the downstairs, the kids asked Cheryl why after we've expanded it into the master suite, mom and dad get the biggest bedroom. Cheryl said "When you pay the mortgage, you can have the biggest room."

I don't think they mention that tactic anywhere in 'Shepherding a Child's Heart' - frankly, I think Mr. Tripp needs some lessons from you, K. ;-)
