Sink Stink

I have a problem--besides the insomnia I mean. Cara, I am going to go get some of that melatonin junk and try it tonight, I am sick of waking up at 2am.

My kitchen sink stinks. No, I mean like Jimmy Hoffa is sitting down in there laughing at me whenever I turn the water faucet on. Yeah, like that. I can smell it when I am in the BASEMENT. I have no idea why, it just started a couple of days ago.
Here are some of the things I have tried.
Bleach
Boiling water
Dishwasher soap--hey I'm desperate
Floor Cleaner--like I said

Any suggestion short of ripping out the pipes--believe me I am ready to do this, except I think Poppers would not like having to fix that--would be appreciated.

Not like I am an expert in household cleanliness and order, but what about orange peels? I've seen Carla throw orange peels in the disposal to get rid of smells there. Were you looking for advice?

Thank you Pat. The acid in oranges or lemons kills the smell in a garbage disposal. Liquid Plumber for the sink?

OR you squeeze some lemons and oranges into the sink.

Kristi- Sleep cycle disturbances can be remedied by Fish Oil ! The Chiropractor told me to give Baby Shelby childrens fish oil when she constantly was waking up at 11,1,3,5:00am. It really helped! She slept 9-5 that next night! He recommends taking it till your symptoms are gone/at least 1 month. You might be depleted. How about a Roto Router for your sink? Do they make one? I think it digs the gunk out of your pipes.? I don't have a disposal- can't help with that. Laura

Richard and I use oranges and lemons, too. I would quarter a couple of each and put the whole thing down the drain.
We've found that the seeds actually neutralize smell very well.

baking soda...is a natural deoderizer. My mom poored baking soda with running hot water down the drain once a week growing up. It works almost instantly. I do th is too. Hope it helps.

Baking soda and vinegar! The two together cause a foaming reaction. The foaming cleans the pipes (and any clogs) the soda freshens it up (not to mention whitens the sink) and the vinegar just makes it work! Really it works, I do it about once a month because my sink has the same issue. Beware too much soda and not enough vinegar causes a clog and remember I said it foams (seriously big time foams) Farfie

I wish I could help you with the Melatonin dosage, but I can't remember.... follow the bottle! And make sure you give it about 2 weeks before you call it crap! Another thing that can help sleep-wake cycles in getting vitamin D from SUNLIGHT--something that is sparce in this state about this time of year until, um, about April. Hang in there..... Oh, and take fish oils no matter what. (Just make sure you get "enteric coated" so you don't burp up fish, and spend an extra buck to make sure there is NO MERCURY.) They are the "magic bullet" for about every disease you can think of. Soon, everything will be fortified with fish oil because it does wonders for everything...possibly even sleep-wake cycles! :)

Happy Zzzzz's. Oh, and I am glad the stink is gone.
