We are watching "the littles" for Pat and Carla while they are away this weekend. Here is my conversation with Nathan yesterday as he looked at Eli's go-cart.
"What's dat?"
"It's a go-cart."
"What?"
"A go-cart."
"Go cawt?"
"Uh-huh."
"What?"
"Yes, a go-cart."
"What you do wif it?"
"You ride on it, but only big people, not little people. You can sit and pretend if you want to."
"What?"
"If you want to sit on it you can."
"What?"
"Nathan, do you want to pretend to drive it?"
"YEAH!"
"Ok, go ahead."
"What?"
At this point I picked up the helmet that was sitting on the seat and pointed to the seat.
"Can I sit on it?"
"Uh-huh."
"What?"
"Yes."
"Can I dwive it?"
"No, only big people can."
"What?"
"Only big people."
"Onwy big pepoh?"
"Yep."
"What?"
Yesterday I visited Carla to pick up some stuff and as I was chuckling while listening to Nathan relate one of his dreams, Carla said to me, "You won't be laughing on Sunday."
