Puzzles are one of my favorite things. I have in previous years asked that my gift on Mother's day be a 3-D puzzle and a weekend alone to work it. The reason I love stained glass work so much is because it is like a puzzle. The kind where you make the pieces yourself. What could be better? (I can feel Kandi shuddering right now...)
Quilting is on the same level, but glass is nowhere near as forgiving as fabric. When quilting, if it doesn't fit you can sometimes stretch it or push it to make it fit. With glass you make it right or you do it over. On this project I was blessed that I only had to re-cut two pieces. Sweet.
I finished the cutting tonight, big thanks to Eli who has been patient with my many hours of working.
This piece is for the Sunday night (The Well) service at church. I can't wait to get it done, this is so much fun.

Wow. Amazing.
I could only do that if it were a Paint-by-Number.
It's gorgeous!
those aren't Jesus' armpit hairs, are they?
Swampy
Do you make that up? Do you have patterns with measurements to follow? Where do you get all the glass and how do you pick what shades to go where? That is amazingly beautiful. Very cool.
I like it! I like it a-laught!
Oh, They're numbers!
This really is outstanding art; will it be on display?
Beautiful!
You are so talented, Mamma!
Mark, you are too funny. I put numbers on the pattern to keep track of all the colors. But I guess Jesus had armpit hair...
I found the pattern online, I have tried to make my own patterns, I'm just not that artfully gifted.
I believe the piece will be displayed on a prayer table at The Well services.
Thank you to all for your compliments.
