That Takes The Cake

Kelli, when you get a blog, you can tell stories about me. What better reason?

Mrs. Incredible wrote a blog about cake, which reminds me....

Kelli made a cake for one of our many get-togethers, and she was pretty proud of herself that she made the frosting herself rather than getting it from a plastic can like people do. She couldn't figure out why it was so stiff and hard to spread. It looked kinda, well, plaster-like to be honest. Y'know those people who mistake the sugar for the salt or vice-versa, or use olive oil instead of corn oil and their cookies taste like olives? Oh, wait, that last one was me.
Anyway, back to the cake. The frosting was the issue, here. "Tunk, tunk", we rapped on the top of the cake. Pretty firm frosting. Never seen it before, really, frosting that set up like Portland cement. But then never before had Kelli mistaken the corn starch for the powdered sugar.
If ever you want some frosting that will stand up to anything short of a jackhammer, ask my sis.

We did have a major laugh when we figured out what had happened, tho.

Ah, and how we laughed when you figured out how to fix the problem. Should've seen her, folks. Found another handy use for DENTAL FLOSS!! Always ingenious, she is.

Now I REALLY don't have to worry about people coming over. I'll just say I'm baking...
