Snow And Ice

Finally got some pouffy sparkly snow last night. Jumping around on the blogs this am--can't sleep--I'm seeing that people in the southern parts of WI are getting pasted with ice storms. Which brings me to a story....

When A&B were still at home, we got the mother of all ice storms, there must have been a quarter-inch on everything. We were trying to get our cars running and cleaned off, slipping and sliding around them in a vain effort to remain upright. Brandy's car was the last to start up, and I told her she needed to start cleaning off the ice while it warmed. I showed her on my car how to pop the scraper into the center of the ice on the window and work at cleaning a circle. "Make sure you hit it really hard, so you can get through to the window, "I told her.
Now the fun.
Before she came outside to start the scraping process, I ever so carefully rolled her passenger window down, keeping the sheet of ice intact.
I'll bet you know what happened next. The look on her face was one I'll never forget.
Priceless.

I'm totally enjoying the view from my window! Have waited months for this calendar-like beauty. My snow meter is full.

Should have been out in it! It was a blast watching people spin out and land in the ditch. Especially the 4 wheel drives! I had the snow and ice Monday and the Ice and lake effect last night. Made a runs on time! Planning is where it's at!

Not only that but he now knows what you are thinking. ;)

I loved the story. I would have liked to see a picture of her face.

I remember that like it was yesterday, and to this day will not pound on any ice for fear of breaking a window. It was awfully clever...
