Thanks today to Jen for the blog idea.
"What sign? Oh, there was a sign?"
We had a meeting at work one day and I think the others at the meeting were a little put off when I replied to a suggestion of a sign, "No. It won't work. People don't see signs." You could almost hear the collective suck of breath at the gall of me to even suggest a thing. But I'm tellin' ya, it's true.
I was at a table collecting money for one of our programs on Wednesday night, and the person paying asked me "Who do I write the check out to?" I looked up at him to see if he was kidding, and had to squinch a smile and a laugh, because the guy's checkbook was laying on the sign that read, "Please make your checks payable to _____".
Maybe we are just so overtaxed with signs we just don't see them anymore. I don't know. Maybe we are just too busy in our lives to take a look. We would just rather have someone tell us. I don't know. As a person who has the tendency to tell people what to do, I am a sign-lover. I feel comfortable when there are signs telling me what is expected of me as well. So if everyone was like me (horror the thought) signs would be a workable idea. Not the case, however.

Thanks...now I can't get that darn song out of my head...
:)
You're welcome!
Could be worse, (sorry, Karli, but in this case, it works) I could have blogged about some Lionel Richie thing...
I am a visual learner. Love signs to point the way through life. I usually see them after the fact tho too...:)
I think that instead of posting signs, perhaps you should start PRAYING for signs.
Just a thought.
I will pray that I head into the right bathroom.
on a street in the cities once they took off all of the signs. all of them, even speed limits, it was kind of an experiment. the city (in all it's wisdom) decided that having so many directions all at once was too distracting, and as we all know, distracting drivers is dangerous... but apparently being able to go as fast as you want isn't...
