Hannah, as much as I love the girl, sometimes makes me a little crazy. When I come home from work, I ask her what she did all day, hoping to hear things like: cleaned out the dishwasher, swept the kitchen floor, cleaned the bathroom, etc. Yesterday what I heard was "I watched 'The Breakfast Club'."
Well.
Hannah is like most teenagers in that she leaves a trail everywhere she goes, of things that could just as easily be put away. Contact cases and solution, along with a hairbrush and a can of mousse on the bathroom sink, you know, a trail.
So I walked into the bathroom to see all of her junk on the sink and I started to crank. "HANNAH! Why can't you just put all this crap away? Why do you have to leave it all over the sink?"
I stuck my head out of the bathroom to hear her excuse and she was sitting on the couch smiling. "You forgot ugly, lazy, and disrespectful."
We both fell over laughing.
Kristi Rule #21
Make a mess, clean it up.
And then go fix me a turkey pot pie.

Acually, I whole-heartedly agree. I mean, I'm just as capable of leaving the trail as the next guy, but it eventually (sooner than later) gets picked up. It drives me crazy when the kids leave dishes or garbage around and not seem to notice. Did they just move in? Are they new to the house? This has always been a rule, but don'tcha just get tired of saying the same things over and over? "Pick that up instead of stepping over it." "Put those in the dishwasher." "Clean your room." "Turn that down!" "Pull up your pants!"
Sorry, got a little carried away there...
Kelli I must have caught you in a bad mood--or did you just get done cleaning up a mess? I thought you'd be laughing at that one the hardest.
I just thought I'd pull in your last blog about Eli and give you a chuckle. ..and I did laugh about the movie line. Always a favorite.
"Who's your father? Mr. Rogers?"
Now I have to go clean up someone else's mess...
Does Barry Manilow know that you raid his closet?
All I need is a lobotomy and a pair of tights.
