On de Ribbah

Spent the day on Ol' Man River yesterday. Well, not "The" ol' man river, but a tributary. Hey! There's another band name, "Ol' Man River and the Tribs". Gotta be country, maybe Joey's heard of them.
But I digress.
Took Jacob, Hannah and her friend Lucy up to the boat landing in Franconia, John picked us up with the pontoon and to the campsite we went. Everyone was glad to see us and the huge bowl of soup I made for the occasion. Pork soup of course, what else?
Everyone was having a fun time, even though they were all pretty tired. So we played some cards, put Jacob down for a nap, and took a trek to the ultimate fishing hole--a half-mile walk over rocks and through muck, but oh so worth it. Caught some huge sunnies and a couple of snake northerns, which went back to their watery home. Fishing there is so fun, even in the middle of the day you hardly have to wait a minute or two for a bite. My kinda fishing.
When we got back to camp the sisters were ready to set up for dinner, and we had a wonderful fish feast. Even Jacob ate fish, although we had to tell him at first that it was chicken. I know, lying to a three-year-old, don't start. He loved that chicken, and when I told him that it was fish, loved that fish. He ate more of my fish than I did. Which is really good and I'm patting myself on the back, because he usually doesn't eat anything I give him.
On the way back to the landing he told me over and over that he really liked going on the river and swimming, even though he took a dunker, Hannah had to grab him out of the water, and he didn't get to go "fishing pole".
This morning we woke up and he asked if we were going to the river today. Sorry bud, wish we could.
Oh! I almost forgot! John caught a daddy catfish, not the grandpas that are in the St. Croix, but a daddy. 46" and John had to grunt to lift it. Now, that's a whopper! He had it tied to a tree by the water, and will let it go tomorrow, but the kids sure have fun pulling on the rope and getting splashed when he objects. Hannah and Lucy named him Carl.
John's sisters dubbed John "Johnny Catfish".
All in all a great day.

No, I haven't heard of them. What's that supposed to mean? You think I'm the only one in the world who likes country? Besides, I also like Christian, soft rock, alternative, and I could go on but it might scare you that I can like that many different styles at once. Someone was in my office the other day and asked, "What's that radio station?" Yeah, not a radio station. My computer. They couldn't believe a radio station would actually play everything from Three Doors Down to Casting Crowns to Keith Urban to whatever else is in there.

Hey, as long as the words are good and the music is sweet, I'm cool with it....

Joey,
Oh, where to start...I MADE UP that band name and was teasing you on the country thing. I know that you have eclectic music tastes, just like to give you the "bidness" about the country. Don't get all bunjie.
And no, you're not the only one who likes country I do too, but you'll never get me to admit it, see all the crap you get from people? Don't want nunna dat.

better to be hated for who you are (or the music you love :) than be loved for who you're not.
