Oprah
No I am not an Oprah addict as some are, in fact I hardly ever watch her, but today on the radio I heard an ad for the show that was to be on this afternoon. I wasn't going to watch it, because do I really want to make Oprah part of my day? No. But I'm glad I turned it on. It was all about this lady who was at work and her ex husband came in, dumped gas on her and lit her on fire. This lady was so beautiful on the inside, her beauty shone through all those scars. When Oprah asked those leading dumb questions she always asks, "How did you feel when..." this beautiful soul answered like nothing had happened to her. She said she used to be beautiful, and had the gift of experiencing that, and this was just another part of her life and she thanked God for it. A quality person if I ever saw one. I think she threw Oprah for a loop! Oprah's facial expressions and body language were something to watch. I love it when people come on TV and tell the world that they are a child of God. Let's have some more of them!!

Amen! I love that, especially because you rarely see it. Kirk Cameron was on O'Reilly one night and when asked how he thought he was doing he said, "Hey, I'm on O'Reilly which about 4 million people watch and not because I got caught with a gun in my hand but because of my faith!" Go Kirk! Hope we see more of guys like him and less of Natalie Holloway! Gosh!
Ditto to less Natalie Holloway. I can't watch Fox News or CNN anymore. All they talk about is Natalie Holloway and Duke University la crosse players.
And right on about Oprah. Her questions are awful. I have no idea how she got to where she is, but I know that I can't stand watching her. Her guests are sometimes okay, but I can't watch her on her own merit.
So more media stuff...my TV is my alarm along with my radio to wake me up and I have it almost all the way up so that I make sure I hear it and get out of bed in the "o-dark-thiry" a.m., and this morning's news was apparently there was some movie filmed here in St. Paul and the actors were visiting for the premier? what amazed me was the young girls like as young as 7 or 8 maybe, were so excited to see the guys in the movie, you know the "cute" male actors 4 times their age. One little girl said she couldn't wait to meet ??? some guy (remember this is at 4:45 in the a.m. so the details are a little fuzzy)but she stated that she reads, or at leasts "looks at", the grocery store magazines all the time!! Another younger teenager girl waited and camped out on the sidewalk 7-8 hours before hand to see the actors. When they finally showed the actors, those same little girls were pushing their way through the crowds to see and meet these people and when asked if they saw her she exclaimed "no but I touched her!!" I think that is so sad, yet on the other hand in my "old creation" I was the same way. It reminded me of the crowds and people who heard that Jesus was in town and they wanted to go to where He was to see and hear Him because of the great things He was teaching and doing, and the one lady who touched His hem of His robe to be healed. I am thankful that the veil has been taken off my eyes to see the reality of sin, idolatry and depravity of humans, but is a very sad reality. I couldn't watch anymore of the worshiping of sinners so off into the shower I went still half sleeping of course.
