Sitting here blogging about nothing, my brain has stopped for the moment--actually you could call it blogger's block--listening to the too-empty aquarium behind me gurgle like some demented waterfall. The dogs are still fighting after almost a week. We did separate them for a while, but today I decided to tolerate the growling--they have to get along sometime, right? From time to time we dog-sit a friend's dog, Molly. She is an elderly Westie. Suffice it to say Eddie is not Molly's favorite. When she barks and growls at him, he thinks she is playing and goes for more. I don't think she sees the attacks through the same rose-colored glasses as he. He's having fun and she is just cranky at him. I've let them go at it for a few minutes now, and neither of them is backing down. Molly doesn't hurt Eddie, just growls and barks. Don't call PETA.
Ladies and gentlemen we have a breakthrough! I wish I would have done this on Monday. Now she is growling, wagging and going after him instead of running to the nearest corner. They are having fun. Both my dog-babies will sleep well tonight.
